What is ZK60?

ZK60 is a high strength heat treatable magnesium alloy belonging to the Mg-Zn-Zr series, which is mainly used in applications requiring light weight, high strength and good heat resistance.

ZK60 Chemical composition:

Zn (Zinc) : 4.8-6.2%

Zr (Zirconium) : 0.45-0.9%

Mg (magnesium) : allowance

Impurity content: such as Fe, Cu, etc., are strictly limited (usually below 0.01%).

Performance characteristics:

High specific strength: ZK60 has high strength and stiffness among similar magnesium alloys.

Good heat treatment performance: Through T5, T6 heat treatment, can further improve its mechanical properties.

Corrosion resistance: Compared with the AZ series, the ZK60 has relatively poor corrosion resistance, so surface treatment is often required.

Good processing performance: suitable for forging, extrusion and other deformation processing technology.

Yield strength: about 220-280 MPa

Elongation: 6-12%
